Novak Djokovic crushes Andy Murray in four sets to claim French Open title (photos)


Novak Djokovic showed why he’s Tennis’ number one man as he defeated British Number 1 Andy Murray in four straights to win the Fench Open title despite Andy Murray’s strong start. Andy Murray won the first set 6-3, but the Serbian tennis guru Djokovic subdued  the 29 year-old Scot to win the final four rounds  3-6, 6-1, 6-2, 6-4 at Roland Garros. With this win, Djokovic has won all the four major titles this year and in taking a twelfth Grand Slam the Serb became only the third man ever to hold all four of the Major titles at once. Murray said “what he’s achieved is phenomenal … It’s not happened for an extremely long time and it’s going to take an extremely long time for it to happen again… obviously it sucks to lose the match … I’m proud to have been part of today.” Djokovic who spoke in French, later slipped into English for Murray’s benefit ‘Talking of “very special moments we’ve shared … I’m sure I’ll be seeing you with big trophies in the future … I know how much work you guys put in .. he’s one of the most dedicated guys on the tour.
