Christopher Simpson appeared in Sacramento Superior Court Wednesday for his arraignment on charges of allegedly murdering 15-year-old Macy Murphy from Sacramento. Simpson’s murder charge is “open-ended” and includes first-degree murder, according to the Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office. The Sacramento resident will be tried as an adult and could face life in prison or the death penalty if convicted of the murder charge, according to court documents filed by the district attorney’s office.
